Once Upon a Sketch Challenge

I haven't participated in a sketch challenge in a long time!  I love the current sketch/journaling challenge issued by Once Upon a Sketch challenge blog, so I had to enter! This sketch is great and so open to interpretation!  The journaling is hidden behind the photo. It's all about how much I love this little girl and how happy she makes my life.

Here is my layout for the challenge:

Here is the beautiful sketch:

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Sketch to Scrapbook

I finished another layout and even had time to photograph, edit, and blog it!  I love long weekends!  These lovely girls are my niece and daughter at Christmas.  When they get together it is non.stop.silliness.  :)

This layout is based on another of Shimelle's sketches.  If you haven't yet, stop by and check it out!
Lots of Studio Calico products here.   The orange patterned paper is from Kaiser.  I broke out some pumpkin glimmer mist and copied shimelle's technique of painting the edges.  Fun!  The orange looks alot more saturated in the photo than in real life.  I like that it gives the page a little sparkle.  I  have been on an orange kick... can you tell?  I also used a Sakura white gel pen to do some outlining.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest!

Layouts & Project Life Week 3

I was so excited to see Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Pages challenges, happening again!  I love these challenges! I used her most current sketch for this layout below.  I also used up almost all of my Sassafrass Lass Foldie Flowers. Eeekk!  I hope someone comes out with something similar soon!   I also used some of my new Studio Calico and Simple Stories products.  Those aqua glitter Thickers came from Marshall's.  I got them for a $1.00!   Score!

This is a Christmas layout  using some Studio Calico Yearbook and My Dear scraps and labels.  There is also some paper torn out of my Smash Book.
* On a side note...I wish Smash Book would do a 3 Ring Binder System, instead of the coil binding.  (Just saying.)

My sweet girls.  Gosh they make me feel old, looking at them all grown up!  Another  layout for my Journal Your Christmas Album.  (Its getting closer to being done).

My un-embellished Project Life Week #3.   This is my first year doing Project Life.  I just don't know how I feel about it yet.  I don't want to quit, because I know it is always awkward doing something for the first time.

Here is the deal, for some reason I just don't get the creative release doing PL that I do when I scrap a layout.  I don't know why.  Maybe it is the pre-defined areas of the page protectors?  I feel confined?

I am not knocking Project Life at all... it is just different for me.  So, I am going to give it some time and see if I get into a groove with it... or not.
I do like seeing a photo recap of my week, though.  Ha !  See... I am still undecided.
I am feeling pretty relaxed knowing that I have two more scrappy days ahead of me, before work starts again.  I am off school for the Martin Luther King holiday tomorrow!  Whoot! Whoot!   Now...off to scrap!

Mother's Day -2012

A new layout using Shimelle's Sketch of the Week.   I used some Basic Grey papers from the PB&J collection which came in my June kit from Cocoa Daisy.  The floral accents are Sassafras Lass Foldies cut apart to work with my design. (I LOVE these!)  The alphabet came from Target, can't remember the manufacturer.  The red and white chipboard buttons are from Jenni Bowlin... I have had these in my stash forever!  I loved them and didn't want to get rid of them, but I never could find a good place to use them.  Now I have!  So glad I kept them all these years!  LOL!

*Side note:  I have a job interview in the morning for a Kindergarten or Third Grade teaching position.  Interviews make me nervous!  Ughhh!  Keep me in your prayers and feel free to share any interview advice! :)

My Sweet Little Squoosh

This is a layout of my sweet grandbaby, Emery & I.  She is so precious!  I call her my little squoosh, because, well, she is just so darn squooshable! I used Shimelle's Sketch of the Week, as inspiration for this layout. (you can see the sketch   & products used below.)

Products:  Little Yellow Bicycle (Up in the Trees & Lovely Day) Pattern Papers and Stickers, Jenni Bowlin pocket, Twine from My Minds Eye, Tim Holtz ChitChat word stickers, Sassafrass Lass & American Craft letter stickers, Martha Stewart Label Stickers, and My Minds Eye brads & label stickers.  You can find all these wonderful supplies at A Cherry On Top.

Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Collection - LOVE!

While we were on vacation in New Braunfels, Texas, I found this awesome Scrapbook store, called Scrapbook N More!  Here is a link to their FaceBook page. I was so excited!  It has been a very long time, since I have gotten to go to an actual SB store!  We don't have any here in Odessa or anywhere even close to us!  Not only was the store terrific, the owner was so sweet!  I asked her if she had any of the new American Craft products.  She said, "As a matter of fact, I just got a few boxes in today.  They haven't been opened, but you can look through them."  And look, I did!  She had the new Amy Tangerine collection, Sketchbook!  SCORE!!!  Bless the owners heart, she hadn't even entered the products into inventory yet.  She did it all while I browsed the store.  Can you say GREAT customer service?  Anyway, I just finished my first layout with this gorgeous collection.  A Cherry on Top has a Becky Fleck sketch challenge going on every couple of weeks.  I submitted this layout for that sketch challenge.  You can see the sketch at the bottom of this post.

New Layouts & Exciting News

Exciting News:  I was asked to be the guest designer at A Cherry On Top for the month of April.  I am so honored and excited!  Whoot! Whoot! :)

Home Layout: I created this layout for the first Becky Fleck sketch challenge at A Cherry On Top.  There is still time to enter!  Don't wait too much longer the challenge ends on March 20th!  I also submitted it as an entry for the Twine Contest at  ACOT.  This one ends March 24th.  The prize is a $100.00 GC to ACOT!
Here is the sketch by Becky Fleck, I used for the layout above:
Family Fun Layout:  This layout was one of those that I messed with for a LONG time and it  just wasn't working.  I ended up cutting it up and basically starting over.  I was almost ready to throw the whole thing in the trash!  You ever feel that way?  Well, I have to say that I am very glad I didn't toss it.  I left it over night and came back to it the next day.  I looked at it with fresh, un-frustrated eyes and ended up with this.  It is now one of my favorite layouts.  Funny how that happens! :)

Purrrfect!

This is my fur-baby, Sugar.  She is sweet &  a little bit feisty!  I love this picture of her playing with my shoes. Of course, I had to scrap it. :)  I used a sketch #192 (pictured below)  from Creative Scrappers.  I tweaked it a little to make it work with my photo.  I also added the title to the top, instead of the bottom.  I am really not into "cutesy" but I love this Max & Whiskers collection from Basic Grey.  It is cute, but not too cute.  Plus, I love the colors!

The Great Outdoors

Hey friend! Thank you for stopping by! I just finished uploading a process video for my layout titled, The Great Outdoors. I used an Echo...
