Sketch to Scrapbook

I finished another layout and even had time to photograph, edit, and blog it!  I love long weekends!  These lovely girls are my niece and daughter at Christmas.  When they get together it is non.stop.silliness.  :)

This layout is based on another of Shimelle's sketches.  If you haven't yet, stop by and check it out!
Lots of Studio Calico products here.   The orange patterned paper is from Kaiser.  I broke out some pumpkin glimmer mist and copied shimelle's technique of painting the edges.  Fun!  The orange looks alot more saturated in the photo than in real life.  I like that it gives the page a little sparkle.  I  have been on an orange kick... can you tell?  I also used a Sakura white gel pen to do some outlining.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest!

Layouts & Project Life Week 3

I was so excited to see Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Pages challenges, happening again!  I love these challenges! I used her most current sketch for this layout below.  I also used up almost all of my Sassafrass Lass Foldie Flowers. Eeekk!  I hope someone comes out with something similar soon!   I also used some of my new Studio Calico and Simple Stories products.  Those aqua glitter Thickers came from Marshall's.  I got them for a $1.00!   Score!

This is a Christmas layout  using some Studio Calico Yearbook and My Dear scraps and labels.  There is also some paper torn out of my Smash Book.
* On a side note...I wish Smash Book would do a 3 Ring Binder System, instead of the coil binding.  (Just saying.)

My sweet girls.  Gosh they make me feel old, looking at them all grown up!  Another  layout for my Journal Your Christmas Album.  (Its getting closer to being done).

My un-embellished Project Life Week #3.   This is my first year doing Project Life.  I just don't know how I feel about it yet.  I don't want to quit, because I know it is always awkward doing something for the first time.

Here is the deal, for some reason I just don't get the creative release doing PL that I do when I scrap a layout.  I don't know why.  Maybe it is the pre-defined areas of the page protectors?  I feel confined?

I am not knocking Project Life at all... it is just different for me.  So, I am going to give it some time and see if I get into a groove with it... or not.
I do like seeing a photo recap of my week, though.  Ha !  See... I am still undecided.
I am feeling pretty relaxed knowing that I have two more scrappy days ahead of me, before work starts again.  I am off school for the Martin Luther King holiday tomorrow!  Whoot! Whoot!   Now...off to scrap!

Lots of Layouts!

Hi there! Long time no see. ;) I  had such good intentions of posting during my two-week Christmas vacation, but it just didn't happen.  I am not going to lie and say I have been too busy.  I just haven't taken the time to sit down and edit photos or write.  I have been taking lots of naps, working out, SCRAPBOOKING (Lots of it!), reading, watching movies, and just generally hanging out.  It's been AWESOME!

Christmas was wonderful and I loved every minute of it... but, I have to say, I am glad it is only once a year!  Phewww... all that preparation wore me smooth out.  I needed the R&R for sure!  Tomorrow is back to reality and back to work.  So before my life gets crazy busy again, I decided to share some of what I worked on during my break.

Warning!  This post is very picture "heavy"!

Me and my sweetie on Christmas day.  I used the new Studio Calico, Dear collection.  LOVE it!

I got the best Christmas present ever!  A Silhouette Cameo... which is how I made this "lovely" title! :)
Getting really jiggy with the twine.

Using up some of my scraps and came up with this.  Most of this is Studio Calico Yearbook collection.

I love my sewing machine! :)
This is my favorite layout of the bunch.  Mainly because the photo makes me laugh every time I see it.  I scraplifted this layout idea from the outrageously talented Maggie Holmes.  I adore her style.   I used products from Crate Paper, October Afternoon and American Crafts.

Last up is my handsome son, Tristan.  Again, I used Studio Calico yearbook collection.  Do you see a pattern here?  :)
That's all folks!  Well, almost.  Miss Ashli of purplemailbox has the monthly Layout Linky going on, which I am participating in.  You should too!  It's awesome!

JYC 2012 Preparation

It's December 1st, 2012 and I am so excited!  I have been eagerly anticipating this day for over a month!  Today is the first prompt from Shimelle's annual Journal Your Christmas class!  Whoot! Whoot! This is my second year to participate.  I must say, I ADORE the album that I completed last year during JYC.

I have done a little more preparation this year.   I gathered my supplies and decided to stick with the same 8x8 album/layout format that I used last year.

Created a calendar page.

Decided on and assembled my numbering format.
Put together a couple of pocket pages with journaling cards:

Lastly, I found some cute tags online and printed, cut, and inked those.
I feel a little more prepared this year and am ready to go!  Now, to check my email for Shimelle's first prompt of the year!

Happy Holidays!

New Layouts... and a card!

I have not had much time to scrap lately, much less photograph and edit layouts!  I miss it... alot!  It is torturing having all these ideas and inspiration and not getting to use them.  Torture, I tell ya!

Anyway, here are a few layouts that I have completed over the past couple of months and haven't blogged. Since this is a collection of unblogged layouts, I am joining Ashli for the Layout Love Linky over at the PurpleMailbox.   Stop by and check out all the lovely layouts and projects!

Most of these layouts are using the new October Afternoon Woodland collection.  LOVE this collection and I love that I won it from Two Peas even more! :)

This is my final design team layout (Sketch #232) for Creative Scrappers.  I loved being on the DT and had so much fun with the wonderful sketches and was so inspired by the ultra talented designers.  However, I didn't reapply for a new term, because I just don't have enough time to do all that I need to do, much less what I want to do... like scrap.  :(

... and a Hello card created with Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook collection.

No Office Job for Me!

A while ago, I posted a "before" photo of my kindergarten classrooms and promised to upload the "after" photos.  Well, it took me awhile, but I finally got a chance last week to do a little scrapping.

Before:

After:
I decided to use October Afternoon's, 9 to 5 collection.  I love this collection, but have had a hard time figuring how to use it.

Then I starting looking at the motifs and images in the collection and thought, "I am NOT an office-job kind of girl!"   And that is the direction I decided to go in.
I love being active. challenged, and creative.  I am SO glad I am not confined to a desk in a gloomy office building.  It makes me happy to walk into my colorful classroom every day.  My surroundings are bright and cheerful amd my little "co-workers" are the same.  I feel very blessed to do what I do.

It is reveal day over at Creative Scrappers!  Be sure to stop by the blog and check out all the gorgeous layouts inspired by sketch #226!

Here is my take on the sketch:

This is my little sweetie, Emery, celebrating her 1st Birthday, with family.  I used a mixture of Basic Grey and October Afternoon.  Love this color combination!
This sketch was a lot of fun to work with and left room for interpretation.  I love that in a sketch! <3 p="p">

Why not give this sketch a try?

To win a prize package from our September sponsor Moments of Tranquility complete at least one layout from our sketches #224-225-226-227 and upload it using our inLinkz at the bottom of our reveals. The deadline to submit your layout(s) is October 1 2012
