Happy Campers
I created this layout several days ago for the Sketch to Scrapbook challenge on Shimelle's blog. These are my daughters on a recent camping trip...being silly, as ususal! Love these two so much! :)
Totally Tags...
I have been feeling uninspired. I haven't wanted to do much of anything. So... instead of wallowing in it, I just made myself do something creative. I found a package of tags and a bowl full of embossed raw chipboard elements that I have had forever. I forced myself get the paint and spray inks out. I told myself I would just mess around and see what happens. I really figured whatever I made would end up in the trash can. Negative, I know. HOWEVER, it freed me in a way. It took away the expectations to make something "good" or "pretty". It was okay if whatever I made sucked rocks. It didn't matter. I was just going through the motions to see if something sparked. Well, it did... eventually. Inspiration struck and a day later I ended up with six tags. I really enjoyed the process and now I am on a creative roll. :)
During this time I was surfing the net and saw Simon Says Stamps new Kraft challenge and decided to pull out my sheet of corrugated Kraft cardstock and some kraft labels and stickers... and see if I could somehow incorporate these items. Here is what I came up with:
So, the moral of the story is: If you feel uninspired, sometimes just forcing yourself to DO SOMETHING creative with no expectations for the outcome, is just the thing you need to get over that hump!

Button Love
My grand-baby's favorite thing to do when she is at Mimi's house is to play with my collection of buttons. At first she would just keep them in my office, sorting and moving them into piles. Then she decided it would be a lot of fun to spread them through out the house. LOL! I am still finding buttons in odd little corners and crevices, from her last visit. Every time I find one it makes me smile. I think she is a scrapbooking, crafty, artsy girl in the making.
Speaking of buttons... there is a challenge over at Simon Says Stamp using... you guessed it... BUTTONS! :) The winner will receive a very generous $50.00 gift voucher! Stop by and check out all the amazing projects using buttons! Prepare to get inspired!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest layout! Now that school is out for the summer, I am hoping to be able to post a little more often! :) Have a wonderful week!

Spring Break 2013 - Whoot! Whoot!
I am officially in Spring Break mode! I slept in late, snuggled with my sweetie, ate a leisurely breakfast, and now I am sitting at my computer roaming the internet for inspiration and eye candy! Knowing that I don't have to go to work for an entire week and can scrapbook/create to my hearts content makes me ridiculously happy! :) Don't get me wrong... I love my job and my kiddos, but I seriously needed a brain break.
I have managed to get some scrapbooking done amidst all my lounging around. I am linking up with Ashli over at The Purple Mailbox for this month's Layout Linky Love. Stop by and check it out for a dose of inspiration!
Okay... now back to my scrap desk to use up all of these wonderful scrappy supplies I have been collecting! :) Happy Sunday!

Valentine's Bouquet
Keith sent me the MOST beautiful bouquet to work for Valentine's Day. I adore flowers, but mostly I adore my sweet guy! This combo of roses and lilies were especially beautiful and so fragrant! They still look lush and fresh 9 days later! I put them on my dining room table, so I see/smell them every time I walk in the front door. Which gives me a little burst of happy every time I walk in the front door. :)
This layout was inspired by Wilna Furstenberg's style (lots of tone on tone white, with splashed of color) and also Mercy Tiara's clever use of thread.
Speaking of Wilna Furstenberg's style... I JUST signed up for her Art Class at Two Peas in A Bucket about 30 minutes ago! I am so excited to get started. I LOVE her creative style and her teaching style. So, with that being said, I am off to listen, learn, and create!
Happy Weekend!

Very Loud Noises!
I got an I-Phone for Christmas and love how convenient it is to take photos. My Rebel T3 has been lonely, lately. It seems I am catching more personality with my Iphone, because it is always close to hand. The quality of the photo is not always perfect, but I am okay with that.
It has been so fun documenting my little "Tenacious E's" (aka my grandbaby, Emery) personality as it develops. She is a sweet little spit-fire... to say the least. So, my i-phone has been great to capture her antics. I have some great photos of this little girl with my Rebel, but I have captured more of her personality with my iphone. You have to be quick and ready with this little one!
Lately, she has decided that being VERY LOUD, is what it is all about. She speaks a few words (more everyday), but mostly she just likes to make VERY LOUD NOISES to make sure she is heard and noticed. I captured one of these LOUD moments on my iphone and had to scrap it! Of course!
I am using the Farm House Paper Company's new Fair Skies collection. Loving this collection!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a relaxing, peaceful Sunday!

TGIF
First, let me say TGIF! It has been a crazy week and I am so ready to relax, unwind, and create! What better way to start the weekend, than by sharing some of my latest layouts?
The last time I ordered from A Cherry On Top, I was browsing the NEW items and came across this new company called Farm House Paper Company. I instantly fell in love with this line called Fair Skies! I love the "country" feel of the line along with the whimsical balloons and vintage script. Plus, the color scheme is one of my favorites! I thought it was perfect for this layout about me and my daughter, Ericka.
Most of this layout was created with October Afternoon products, that have been sitting in my stash for far too long. It was use it or loose it time. I went with use it. So glad I did too... because it worked perfectly for these photos of my little princess on her first birthday!
Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I have been up to! Hope you have a lovely and creative weekend!

They see me rollin'... and a free valentine hearts cut file.
Emery recently graduated from a passenger to the driver of the Barbie Jeep. Her mom (Ericka) taught her how to push the gas pedal and steer... somewhat. The steering is a little iffy still. :) The real trick is to get her out of the Jeep when it is time to go inside. Talk about a set of lungs... WOW! :)
Every time I looked at this picture these lyrics from a rap song "They see me rollin'" came to mind. I don't know why, but apparently that is how my mind works! LOL! Hence, the title.
I have had this little glassine bag in my stash for EVER. I decided to finally make use of it. Then as I was moving stuff around the page, I ended up tearing it right in the middle. No problem-o. I patched it with some handy-dandy washi tape. Good as new. I also added some sequins inside the bag for a little extra detail and then the tag with journaling.
This next layout was a blast to make! I was inspired by this layout created by Erin Stewart. I couldn't find the cut file she used for the heart background anywhere. I decided to make my own in Silhouette studio. You can download it HERE. Enjoy! :)
Last Tuesday, Wilna from Two Peas did a tutorial video using the same layout by Erin Stewart for inspiration. Watch the video when you have time! Her style is so inspiring and love the squooshed paint technique!
I love how this turned out. It has lots of dimension, texture, layered-y goodness and THE sweetest little girl in the whole world! My kind of layout. :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sketch to Scrapbook
I finished another layout and even had time to photograph, edit, and blog it! I love long weekends! These lovely girls are my niece and daughter at Christmas. When they get together it is non.stop.silliness. :)
This layout is based on another of Shimelle's sketches. If you haven't yet, stop by and check it out!
Lots of Studio Calico products here. The orange patterned paper is from Kaiser. I broke out some pumpkin glimmer mist and copied shimelle's technique of painting the edges. Fun! The orange looks alot more saturated in the photo than in real life. I like that it gives the page a little sparkle. I have been on an orange kick... can you tell? I also used a Sakura white gel pen to do some outlining.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest!

Layouts & Project Life Week 3
I was so excited to see Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Pages challenges, happening again! I love these challenges! I used her most current sketch for this layout below. I also used up almost all of my Sassafrass Lass Foldie Flowers. Eeekk! I hope someone comes out with something similar soon! I also used some of my new Studio Calico and Simple Stories products. Those aqua glitter Thickers came from Marshall's. I got them for a $1.00! Score!
This is a Christmas layout using some Studio Calico Yearbook and My Dear scraps and labels. There is also some paper torn out of my Smash Book.
* On a side note...I wish Smash Book would do a 3 Ring Binder System, instead of the coil binding. (Just saying.)
My sweet girls. Gosh they make me feel old, looking at them all grown up! Another layout for my Journal Your Christmas Album. (Its getting closer to being done).
My un-embellished Project Life Week #3. This is my first year doing Project Life. I just don't know how I feel about it yet. I don't want to quit, because I know it is always awkward doing something for the first time.
Here is the deal, for some reason I just don't get the creative release doing PL that I do when I scrap a layout. I don't know why. Maybe it is the pre-defined areas of the page protectors? I feel confined?
I am not knocking Project Life at all... it is just different for me. So, I am going to give it some time and see if I get into a groove with it... or not.
I do like seeing a photo recap of my week, though. Ha ! See... I am still undecided.
I am feeling pretty relaxed knowing that I have two more scrappy days ahead of me, before work starts again. I am off school for the Martin Luther King holiday tomorrow! Whoot! Whoot! Now...off to scrap!
