Giddy-Up!

I used the adorable new Sasparilla collection from October Afternoon for this layout!  I ordered it specifically for these photos.  This is my grandbaby, having her first "Rocking Pony" experience at the park.  She loved it!  I think she is a natural cow-poke! :)  I used the newest challenge sketch from Once Upon A Sketch.  It is shown below! :)  Thanks for looking!

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #3

I had this same Stencil paper from Jenni Bowlin's Magpie collection, that Shimelle used in her layout for this challenge.  I loved how she used it and drew my inspiration to mix styles from her.

Here is what I came up with:

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #9

Here is the past "sketch of the week" challenge, I chose.  I just now realized that I chose the same sketch that Shimelle used for the layout preview for this challenge.  Wow!  I went through several pages of old challenges and this is what I chose!  LOL!  Great minds think alike, I guess! :)

Here is my layout based on the sketch:

I got a bit carried away with the paint splatters on this layout.  I was thinking of just throwing in the towel and starting over, but I decided to just go with it and chalk it up as a learning experience.   While this is not my favorite layout, I had a lot of fun with the creative process and I ADORE this photo.

I wanted to say "Hi" to my new followers and tell you how much I appreciate your comments and input!  This weekend crop of Shimelle's has been very productive for me and as an added bonus, I have met so many other talented scrappers. I have also had the pleasure of browsing wonderful layouts.  It has been a blast seeing all the creativity and different styles.  So inspiring!  :)

I wanted to send a special shout out to Miss Cynthia who, I believe, has completed EVERY challenge and probably has commented and viewed every submission!  You are a sweet-heart and I love your enthusiasm!
Stop by Cynthia's blog and check out her gorgeous work.  { The Wandering Buckeye...Creates }

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #16

On top of this challenge, I decided to challenge myself by using a solid, non-neutral colored cardstock.  I have a ton in my stash and I barely ever use them.  Not to mention, the one I chose is orange.  Not a color I use too often as a primary color for my designs.  I pulled together some scraps to compliment the orange and just went with it.  I started layering...and layering...and layering.  :)  I feel pretty good about making a large dent in my scraps!

This is what I came up with:

Shimelle's Blog Challenge # 10

Here is my take on the challenge:

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #15

This challenge was to use photos that you consider to be "not so good" or rubbish and scrap it just like you would any other photo.  I used this photo of my grandbaby in her new swimsuit.  The photo is blurry and a little out of focus. Not one that I really planned on scrapping... because I have so many great photos of her!  Well, I decided to just go with it and  I am pretty pleased with the result:

Shimelle's blog challenge# 8 - Stamp Just Once

I bought this "What I Love Today" stamp from Michael's last weekend for a $1.  Love good deals, but they aren't good deals unless you are actually going to use them.  I have a drawer full of stamps that don't see the light of day or my craft table very often.  So, this challenge is perfect for me!

Here is a close up of the stamped image.  I used my new Recollections circle punch (which I got half off at Michael's), Rose Bud ink from Memento, and dusted some Perfect Pearls by Ranger on top.

I used the same Rose Bud ink from Memento, to color the chipboard hearts from Jenni Bowlin.

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #11

Another layout done!  I am on a roll!  Thanks Shimelle for all the inspiration!

I rarely use one collection to complete a layout, but I did, for the most part, on this one.  I used the new Fresh Goods collection (paper and chipboard floral embellishments.) from Pebbles and a Jenni Bowlin word sticker.  The blue alphabet is from Sassafrass Lass.  The white file card came in one of those photo boxes from Michael's.  I never use them to organize my pictures!  LOL!  They usually end up in the trash.  I decided to make use of them and thought they would make great journaling cards/ photo mats.  I feel so thrifty! :)

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #5

Inspiration points I took from this lovely layout:
  1. Tone-on-tone white.
  2. A similar photo and element placement
  3. The "love" title on Wilna's layout - I did a similar look, using my Cricut machine, and pop-dotted it on top of some patterned paper.
  4. Paint splatters around the page.

So far, this is my favorite layout of the weekend!  Thanks for the inspiration Wilna & Shimelle for the challenge! :)

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #4

I chose to use blue as my 3rd choice for the color challenge.  This was a quick scrap for me.  I love grey and yellow together.  I have wanted to scrap these pictures for a while and the color scheme is perfect for them.  This is Keith's new baby.  A 1969 Dodge Dart.  It is the exact color and style of his first car.  It is not the actual Dart he had in High School....that one is in the garage waiting to be restored.  He found his actual car out west of town, sitting in an old field.  He bought it.  It is going to require a lot of work.  The good thing about this car, is that it is pretty much ready to go. It just needs a few things and it will be ready to take cruising.  :)

Shimelle's Blog Challenge #1

This is Shimelle's first challenge for the weekend crop.  The challenge was to scraplift this layout by Jaime Warren.  This was really a challenge for me!  I loved Jaime's layout and really wanted to follow her page as closely as possible.  I just couldn't make the left and right edges work for me and my stash.  So, I ended up with a layout that is similar to the middle section, but different on the sides.  This layout took me over 4 hours to complete!  Now, I am a slow scrapper, but not usually that slow!  LOL!  Anyway, it was fun and I am pretty happy with the outcome.  What I learned:  Scraplifiting is not as easy at it may look!  :)

Here is what I came up with:

A Lovely Day at the Park - Layout

Another Starting Point challenge from the lovely and talented Shimelle.  Also, another layout of my sweetie-pie, squoosh, Emery.  We went to the park on Easter weekend and found plenty of photo opportunities!  She is the best-natured little girl!  This was her first trip to the park and it was so fun watching her take it all in.  Have I said how in-love I am, with this angel?  I wish I could put her innocence and joy in a bottle and save it forever. It is amazing how much joy she brings me!  I could just gush, on and on.  LOL!

The Great Outdoors

Hey friend! Thank you for stopping by! I just finished uploading a process video for my layout titled, The Great Outdoors. I used an Echo...
